About Me

Hi!  I’m Lilian.  I’m a full time, slightly neurotic Filipina mom to my amiable 10 year old boy, feisty grade 8 year old girl and good tempered 1 year old boy.  If I’m not busy  with mothering duties and managing the household, I’m right here blogging or doing worksheets/reviewers for my kids.  I have made hundreds and hundreds of worksheets which I share here:-)  Aside from taking care of the family,  I like to run, go to the gym (ok, ok it does not show still), read a good book  and hang out with  friends.   I initially wanted to give my website the name mommy matters because I think a happy Me makes for a happier family.  Cliché as it may sound,  it all begins with the self.

This blog, like our home, is a work in progress – motherhood one step at a time.   But more than that,  this blog is meant to share events big and small alike in my small family and in my eternal quest towards a 26 inch waist line!:)

    • Hello Teddy!!!! Congressman Teddy! Future Senator!:-) wow naman I am so honored by your comment. Syempre Perspective gave me the confidence in writing and further honed my skills. Thanks for believing in me then, Teddy, and for believing in me now:-) And I have the same confidence and respect for you then and now. I wish you a seat in the senate and beyond:-) Let me know if I can do anything to help, apart from my vote and my entire family’s vote:-)

P.S. Cong. Teddy Casino is my editor-in-chief in the Perspective. It is the official publication of UP Los Banos where I used to be a writer for 2 years.

  6. Hi fellow mom!

You are every parent’s HERO. Where would we be if it were not for you? We would just go blank and be frustrated on how to let our kids practice on worksheets. Now here you are…you made our life easier.

God bless you and more power!

P.s. Thank you so much for your reply on my email. I reposted as you requested. hehe :)

    • Thanks missy:-) Wow what a compliment! Thank you, thank you and thank you again for the wonderful accolade. I’m no Hero though just a mom who made some worksheets for her kids and shared it with you guys:-) I’m so glad you appreciate it. Comments like yours keeps me going!

      Thanks for reposting hehe:-)

  7. hi, thanks for sharing your worksheets. I have a grade 4 daughter and she prefers exercises than holding a book and studying them.

    • Hi Han! You are much welcome. My son is also like your daughter he prefers worksheets over verbal questions. As for my daughter, she prefers me quizzing her verbally:-) Hope you can share TheGoMom with your co-parents. Thanks!

  8. Hi Lilian…

  10. Hi!
I am a teacher/mom and your worksheets have been very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. More power to you and to the Go Mom website! :)

  11. Lilian.. thank you very much for sharing your worksheets. Thank you! God bless you for doing this!!!

  12. great site! your worksheets
(esp. for the subject filipino) is very very useful i’m a mother of three adorable yet sometimes handful kids — one is studying at ags. every time we as in we prepare for his exams, i feel im also a grade school student myself.. anyway keep up the good work :)

    • Thanks Ruby! And, I know what you mean. Me also, I feel like I can already win in the “I’m smarter than a Grade 5″ contest because of all this studying hehe:-) I also have 3 kids and they are my happy chaos!

  13. I haven’t explored your blog yet but I like your About page. I’m into fitness too but I think I won’t be able to reach that 26 inch waist line. Haha, age and genetics. I’m happy if I reach 27 or 28 again. I’ll be going back to read more.

    • Hi lynn! Thanks for liking my about page:-) Re the 26 inch waist line, I still hope for the day I can wear a bikini haha! You are so right about age and genetics. My metabolism has plummeted so I have to work out extra hard and diet, oh well, life is too short for that. Hope to hear from you again.

  14. Finally, a Pinay mom blogger! I’m so glad I found your site. You have 3 kids. That’s a handful. I’m a new mom to a baby girl. Well, not really new, she’s 8 months. And I just wanna enjoy every second of it because I probably won’t have another. I just wanted to connect with the other mommies in cyberspace if I have time. Mommies always have such amazing stories to tell.

    Thanks!

    • Hi Goddess Mom! You said it right 3 kids are quite a handful. But as they say, we have a happy chaos here. Enjoy your 8 month old! They grow up so fast. I have a 16 month old and my he’s growing right before my eyes. I’m scrambling for a pause button! Hope to hear more from you!

  15. Hahaha… “the eternal quest for a 26 inch waistline” – I like that! LOL! We are definitely on the same quest… one can dream aye? I want my high school body back!

  16. Way to go Lilian. I’m sure glad you invited me to read your blog. In fact I’m a little envious that you have all the time to concentrate on your kids. But thanks for selflessly sharing your experiences and insights with us. It’s really going to be helpful for me because I’m a working mom. It’s nice to connect with a someone I know. More power togoMom!

    • Thanks charina! The blog is work itself so don’t have the luxury of time as before. But I’m enjoying doing the blog. Hope to see and hear more from you here at thegomom:-)

  18. Hi…your site is really interesting. Actually I used some…uhm a lot of your worksheets for my niece. But it’s just that I have a few questions about how she’s doing at school? Is it possible to send you a message to your email? I think you’re the person who can help me. Thank you so much.

  21. claudine says:

Thank you go mom for this site! I will teach my 6 year old son basic Filipino this summer so he will not “suffer” come June 2012 in Grade 1. More power to you!!! God bless…. You are heaven sent!

    • Haha claudine! It is downright weird that kids are having a hard time learning our native tounge. Now, since I have more time and hehe patience (no tutoring) I try to say things in English and Filipino at the same time. Ex. Come here, halika. Thanks for liking the site!

  22. Hey Lilian! Didnt know this was yours until today when I saw your link on Tess’ page.

    How fun!!

    Goodluck and more posts!

  23. Your worksheets have saved me tons of time. My sister and I are full-time working aunts tutoring our three nephews aged 13, 9, and 6. They study at Xavier University Grade School (XUGS) and our third grader\’s lessons are exactly like your eldest son\’s.

Thank you very much for sharing your worksheets with us. We\’re no strangers to the eternally frazzled state and the morphing into Dr. Hyde come study time and we really appreciate knowing that we\’re not alone in this. God bless you Go Mom!

  24. Hi gomom, I\’m expecting this July so I\’ve been looking around for tips and other stuff so that I can have ideas at least when I finally become a mom myself.
I\’m cheering you for the 26 inch waist line! :)
