Decathlon PH: Most Massive and Complete Sports Store in Manila

I was in Alabang for my son's football tournament and I decided to pass by Decathlon in Festival Mall because I needed football socks and a co-parent recommended Decathlon.  I was expecting a store like Toby's or Sports Warehouse and I was in for a surprise,  the store is gargantuan!!!  As in para syang S&R, H&M or Ikea ng mga sports equipment!  Feel nyo ba excitement ko? Outside pa lang my heart was palpitating already!  Just to put it aside, this is not a sponsored post.  Natuwa lang talaga ako sa aking discovery!

Decathlon is a 42-year old French Company and is one of the biggest sports retailers in the world!  They opened their first store last June 2017 and they plan to open more than 30 stores in the Philippines in the next 10 years. They have over 1,300 stores in 28 countries.

The store carries about 74 sports!!!!  Sorry excited much!

Football / soccer

They have a huge playground outside which I wasn't able to take a photo of because it was drizzling.  Inside the store though there are a lot of test zones, like hoops in basketball area and a mini-football patch.  My kid had a field day testing out their stuff.

You won't find name brands in the store though.  Para nga syang H&M.  They have their own brand, Kipsta and like H&M the prices are soooo affordable.  I got my son's football socks for only P100, with compression na yan ha! Sports Shorts are P350, shirts at P150-P300, specialized shoes at P600, tents at P3,000 (perfect for father's day camping).  They have a lot of hard to find items too, like my son's juggling football training net.

They said each section has designated in-house experts for those newbie questions but there weren't really that many of them.  You just have to look around but you will find them.  Parang H&M nga eh!;-)

Upon payment they gave me free membership which entitles me to an extended 2-year warranty on goods and I get exclusive invites to Decathlon organized events.

Needless to say, I overspent.  Ang dapat P100 na socks naging almost P5k because I got so many other things! This time hehe para naman syang S&R na vitamins lang bibilin mo but you end up with a bill na P10k!  I live so far away kasi.  Ok, ok.  Mahina self control ko.  But really guys if your family is into sports or if you want to get your kids interested in sports this is a good place to start.  It is definitely worth the travel!

Happy Shopping!
