With 3 kids celebrating their birthday party yearly, I would say, kiddie parties on our side of the town gravitate around those that are fun for the kids; generally, easy to organize and will not create a big dent on the budget.
Save for the 1st and 7th birthday parties, I would shy away from parties that would require me to cough out thousands for the venue alone. Venue fees in villages range from P5,000 to P25,000! I could already use that money for food. I can choose to do it at home, but I would need to spend on food too, rent tables and chairs and the most horrific of all is the cleanup after.
Fast food restaurant parties would be the most practical and fun choice for small to medium sized kiddie parties for kids 10 and below.
- The cost of the food comes together with the cost of the venue. A party in the country’s favorite fast food Jollibee, for instance, for 30 people that comes with spaghetti, chicken, a regular drink and an ice cream is just P8,000 (this includes party fee for mascot and giveaways).
- The place is already dressed up for the party. No need to contact a caterer, secure balloons or order a tarp.
- The restaurant usually comes with a host. That would be another P5,000 to P25,000 saved on host fees and their hosts are quite good with kids. They are up-to-date with the latest party games. They play the hottest music kids love and their voices are enthusiastic and animated the way kids like it.
- Kids and parents are familiar with most fast-food restaurants. The familiarity gives rise to a more relaxed and fun atmosphere.
- The party comes with basic prizes for the kids saving me a trip to Divisoria.
- If I hire a caterer or cook by myself, making sure the guests like the food I chose or prepared is another worry but with fast food everyone is guaranteed to love the food. 🙂 Is there anyone who doesn't look forward to ChickenJoy???
- You just talk to one and only one supplier. You don't have to go around the city coordinating the venue, cake, balloons, giveaways, host...
- It is fuss-free and convenient for everyone. I would literally just come and go. I just book the party and appear on the party date, enjoy the party and leave right after it!
