Kiddie Party Trends of 2013

Every year a new party trend comes up.  Sometimes it is dictated by the kiddie blockbuster movie of the year (think Avengers) or by the newest party gizmo to hit town (bouncy playhouse, for instance).   According to OneStylishParty.com and Yahoo News 2013 Party Trends,  Year 2013 brings kiddie parties back to basics where moms' creative juices are tickled and event stylists must rise to the occasion.  Here are some new trends to guide and inspire us parents as we prepare for the grand day of our little ones.

Blended Party Themes

Children may adore fairies but sometimes,  with all the choices around,  they would happen to be into rock stars too.  Comes in blended party themes.  It incorporates the favorite things the celebrant so desires in one party theme.  A Curious George mixed with Fire Trucks theme, perhaps?

Personally Made Decor

With the rise of inspiration sites like Pinterest and Instagram,  more and more moms would want to  try their creative juices and inject one or two DIY elements into their children's party. It makes the party more personal and unique.

My daughter and I labored over her rock star centerpiece and we proudly announced it to our guests that all centerpieces were handmade:-)  My friend Jing helped me conceptualize the centerpiece.   I thought of the candy pots:-)  I just got some printed tapes from Reginas and taped it.

Rise of Traditional, Back to Basics Party Themes

Again with the popularity of pretty sites like Pinterest,  parties are turning out well, pretty.   Instead of the usual character parties,  parents are turning to the basic interests of their kids.  A boy who is perhaps into trucks or airplanes instead of Ironman?   A girl who loves flowers or traveling instead of Barbie?

And all of these themes,  with a bit of imagination can turn into something lovely enough to make Martha Stewart clap in glee.

Dessert / Popcorn / Miniature Bars

As last year,  pretty dessert bars filled with all the sweets that can keep those youngsters up till New Year 2014, are still in.

I think Popcorn bars may also make their way in especially with the arrival of those, oh so, expensive but yummy gourmet popcorns with exotic flavors.

With the intention to decrease left overs and make the party more casual and personal,  miniauture foods like mini-pizza, mini-burgers, mini-hotdogs might just make it to the party table.

In the end,  all of these party trends are just guides and inspirations.  What is more important is that our kids and their friends will enjoy the party,  hopefully without breaking the bank:-)

A great and sure fun way to celebrate our kids' birthday is by holding it in Jollibee.  The kids know the place, they love the food and they are familiar with the characters and games.  Jollibee made booking your little one's kiddie party even easier through Jollibee Kiddie Party Online.   Ang galing because everything is done online!  The dates, the venue, the menu, the giveaways all online!  Try it out now!  www.jollibeeparty.com.
