DreamPlay Manila for our family is the coolest indoor playground in Manila. Quite sporty and competitive, our hearts were pumping wild when we first had a glimpse of what DreamPlay is. It's a DreamWorks inspired playground filled with challenging obstacle courses with varying degrees of difficulty. To top it all, considering the Manila heat, it's great to have it indoors and air-conditioned!
Plus what can be cooler than training to be the next Dragon Warrior! Hi-ya!
Sharing with you what to expect in each of the 15 attractions, FAQ and tips on how to get the best experience at DreamPlay Manila.
(1) Thread of Enlightenment (Kung Fu Panda)
Height Requirement: 4.6 feet / 140cm
Clothing: Closed Shoes/Rubber Shoes and sleeved shirt required. Note that Crocs are not allowed. Long shorts / pants preferred. Sleeves and long shorts are to protect our kids' skin from the harness. Long shorts/pants is also for decency since a lot of people will be looking up to see the kids in the courses. We wouldn't want strangers looking up on our girls' legs.
Thread of Enlightenment is an adrenaline rush, multi-level rope course challenge. You will be attached to a harness for safety and will be balancing on ropes, calculating your next step on the suspended wood steps.
(2) Wall of Destiny (Kung Fu Panda)
Height Requirement: 4 feet / 120cm
Clothing: Closed Shoes/Rubber Shoes and sleeved shirt required. Long shorts / pants preferred.
Wall of Destiny is wall-climbing activity complete with harness.
(3) Leap of Faith (Kung Fu Panda)
Height Requirement: 4 feet / 120cm
Clothing: Closed Shoes/Rubber Shoes and sleeved shirt required. Long shorts / pants preferred.
Leap of Faith will have the kids gathering enough courage to take a leap of faith while aiming to grab the giant punching bag.
(4) Stair Way to Heaven (Kung Fu Panda)
Height Requirement: 4 feet / 120cm
Clothing: Closed Shoes/Rubber Shoes and sleeved shirt required. Long shorts / pants preferred.
Stair Way to Heaven may look simple but a lot of people get stuck somewhere between the second and third to the last stairs. The key is not to hesitate and not to calculate your steps too much. Otherwise, if you look down, kids might lose courage and simply ask to be harnessed down. My 14 year old did it quick without hesitation and was up the top in a few minutes. My 11 year old calculated her steps and ended up scared on the second to the last step. She promised to try next time.
(5) Fast as Lightning (Kung Fu Panda)
Height Requirement: 3.2 feet or 100 cm
No special clothing required.
Fast as Lightning is like a giant X-box. The screen would have Po doing some moves and the kids have to imitate him. Highest score goes to best imitator.
(6) Dream Studio
Height Requirement: 3.2 feet or 100 cm.
No special clothing required.
Dream Studio will have the kids design their own animation using computer, umm, animation.
(7) Whatever Floats your Boat (Madagascar)
Height Requirement: 3.2 feet or 100 cm
No special clothing required.
Whatever Floats your Boat will have the kids helping the Penguins design and assemble their own boat and have it float and race down a winding river. It's not as exciting as the kids thought it to be because the boats just float by quite slowly.
(8) Gingy's Kitchen (Shrek)
Height Requirement: 3.2 feet or 100 cm
No special clothing required.
Gingy's Kitchen will have the kids stamping and decorating their own Gingerbread man. Slots are limited to 15 kids per batch so you would have to immediately sign up for this upon entering Dream Play. It happens every 30 minutes. My 4 year old had fun here:-)
(9) How to Fly your Dragon (How to Train your Dragon)
Height Requirement: 3.2 feet or 100 cm
No special clothing required.
How to Fly your Dragon is something similar to Whatever Floats your Boat. The kids design their own dragon, choosing and connecting the head, body, wings and tail. Upon completion of their dragon, they climb up the dragon through wooden steps and cross hanging bridges. At the top, they give their dragons to the staff and they can watch their dragon fly and swoop down a harness.
Part of the How to Fly your Dragon area are a merry mix of different dragon slides kids will enjoy.
(10) DinoTrux
Height Requirement: 3.2 feet or 100 cm
No special clothing required.
Dino Trux will have the kids navigating and driving their dino balls along an obstacle course. It is quite hard to maneuver and requires patience and some skill. If you go up the stairs, kids can also control the head movement of the giant dino-bot.
(11) Shrek Swamp Stomp (Shrek)
Height Requirement: 3.2 feet or 100 cm
No special clothing required. Socks required at the ball area.
Shrek Swamp Stomp is a challenging and fun obstacle course for smaller kids but big kids can go in too. It's like a giant maze as they crouch down in one area and come out in another hole. My 4 year old had fun here.
(12) Science Exhibits
No height and clothing requirement.
Upstairs, you will find some more activities like the airplane cockpit of the Madagascar penguins and some science exhibits but not as challenging as the ones downstairs. No need to go up if you don't have time, you won't miss much.
Not an attraction but equally appreciated by the kids is the DreamWorks Toy Shop at the exit and the Cheez Gingy Cafe.
