Cabbage Soup Diet

I lost 5 pounds in just 7 days!  Ok,  before you switch the channel thinking you clicked on an infomercial,  it's not an infomercial.  I just thought I would share with you how pleased I am of the 7 day Cabbage Soup diet I recently did.

Just days shy of December I am scrambling to lose the pounds without breaking my wallet (sorry can't afford Cohen).  Enter my friend Elaine,  who just lost 7 pounds in a week.  She said she tried the Cabbage Soup Diet.  I think I heard it before but I didn't give it a shot because I'm no soup fan, with a few exceptions.

And cabbage soup was an exception.  It's not a clear cabbage soup as I thought it to be. It's tomato based and the finished product tastes like minestrone.

Below is the general overview of how the diet goes.

Day 1 - all you can eat cabbage soup and fruits (exceptions-bananas, avocado and mango).  I drank cranberry juice today - its allowed:-)

Day 2 - all you can eat cabbage soup and veggies.  I ordered Polonchay from David's Tea House.  I have to have it good so I don't feel deprived.

Day 3 - cabbage soup plus veggies and fruits.   I feasted on salad, forced an apple (I'm a fan of the gadgets not the fruit) and ate lots of papaya.

Day 4 - cabbage soup,  up to 8 bananas and skim milk.  Yummy!

Day 5 - cabbage soup, up to  20 ounces of beef (that's 1/2 a kilo!) and 6 fresh tomatoes  Ok this was a Friday night and I hosted a party at home so I took some shrimp pasta, salad and proudly skipped the cheesecake.  I forgot to take my cabbage soup today.

Day 6 - all you can eat cabbage soup, veggies and beef/chicken/pork.

Day 7 - cabbage soup, brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and vegetables.  I don't like brown rice so instead I ate the bacon cheeseburger in Chili's - sira ang diet!

So there,  I didn't starve to death.  I lost 5 pounds.   Friends and even the husbandry notice the weight I lost.  I didn't have to chuck 55 grand.  It's 7 days so short enough to stick to.   Plus I  managed to keep the pounds from resurfacing a week after I ended the diet.  Now, I eat whatever I like but in moderation and I try to stay away from too much carbs.  I plan to do part 2 after 2 weeks (the recommended rest period in between diets).  To the entire momkind,  struggling to lose those post pregnancy pounds (ok, even if your kid is 10 years old post pa rin),  Cabbage Soup Diet - highly recommended!

    • Hi telly! Thanks for finding my site helpful. Yeah you should try cabbage soup. It gave my diet the jumpstart I needed. I have lost 10 pounds since I started though I did it only once. After the cabbage soup diet, I lost some more pounds because I was more mindful of what I ate. Wishing you all the luck! Just repeat the mantra – it’s only 7 days! that sure worked for me:-)
